Klinik Hirslanden is the principal hospital of Switzerland's largest private healthcare provider and the Movement Clinic is concerned with all aspects of the human movement apparatus: bones, joints, muscles, tendons and ligaments. Changes in these may be congenital or the result of disease or 'wear and tear', or may arise from accidental injuries.
Ultramodern navigation systems are used in orthopaedic surgery, which assist the surgeon from the planning to the operation. Precise three-dimensional bone models are developed, e.g. during the implantation of hip and knee total endoprostheses. These enable the surgeons to place implants more precisely, with improved outcome for the patient.
